Lower Timing Chain Cover, Replacing: Removing
The lower timing chain cover cannot be removed without damaging it.
-- Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil, Draining; Oil Filter, Replacing and Filling Engine Oil.
-- Remove the right front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the engine support. Refer to Crankshaft, Removing and Installing .
-- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to Ribbed Belt, Removing and Installing .
-- Free up the clip -2- for the wire.
-- Remove the bolt -1-.
-- Unclip the oil dipstick tube in direction of -arrow-.
-- Free up the wires.
-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to Vibration Damper, Removing and Installing .
-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-.
-- Remove the bolts in the sequence -15 through 1-.
-- Pry off the lower timing chain cover.
