Main Bearing Shells Allocation

At the factory, bearing shells with the appropriate thickness are matched to the engine and marked with colored dots.

The color coding can be matched to the main bearing shells by checking the letters on the engine -arrow-. The first letter is for bearing cap -1-, the second for bearing cap -2-, etc.

Letter Color coding
S Black
R Red
G Yellow
B Blue
V Purple
W White

The bearing shell color coding for cylinder block can be engraved on the oil pan sealing surface or on the front side of the cylinder block -arrow- on the transmission side.

The crankshaft bearing cap bearing shell color coding is engraved on the crankshaft in letters -arrow-.
