Crankshaft, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Refer to Engine, Securing to Engine and Transmission Holder .

-- Remove the oil pan upper section. Refer to Oil Pan Upper Section, Removing and Installing .

-- Remove the balance shaft drive chain. Refer to Balance Shaft Drive Chain, Removing and Installing .

-- Mark the installation position and which connecting rod bearing cap -1- belongs to which connecting rod.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the connecting rod bearing cap -1-.

Requirement

• Do not damage the cracked surfaces of the connecting rods and connecting rod bearing caps -1-.

-- Repeat this procedure for the remaining connecting rod bearing caps -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the bolts -1 through 10-.

-- Remove the crankshaft bearing cap -1- using the Puller - Unit Injector:T10055  -A- in direction of -arrow-.

-- Repeat this procedure for the remaining crankshaft bearing caps -1-.

-- Remove the crankshaft.

Requirement

• Do not damage the sensor wheel when putting down the crankshaft.
