Dual Clutch, Removing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
Brief description:
- Adjust the clutch axial play when installing.
- Secure the transmission to the assembly stand so that it is vertical when removing and installing the clutch. Refer to SECURING ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER . This is the only position in which the clutch axial play can later be adjusted without malfunctions.
Removing
-- Remove the clutch end cover. Refer to CLUTCH END COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Important! Installation position of the drive plate
-- Please check if the mark on the drive plate -arrow- aligns with the mark on the outer clutch plate carrier.
If no marking is present:
-- Mark the location of the drive plate to the outer clutch plate carrier circumference with a waterproof marker as shown.
- When installing, the drive plate must be placed back on this marked location.
The circlip is replaced together with the clutch. If the removed clutch is reinstalled, the circlip is also reused.
-- Pry out the drive plate circlip -2- with a screwdriver -1- -arrow-.
-- Place the Puller: T10525 with Puller - Unit Injector: T10055 on the splines and carefully drive out the drive plate from its seat -arrows-.
-- Remove the circlip -arrow- and store it for the time being.
Do not dispose of the circlip yet it is needed to measure the axial play.
-- Remove the shim -arrow-.
Carefully remove the dual clutch. Make sure that no other parts of the clutch fall out; for this reason, never turn over the clutch!
-- Hook the two T-Handle Hook: 3438 oppositely in the clutch -arrow-.
-- Remove the dual clutch using the T-Handle Hook:3438 .
