Accumulator Or Receiver With Dryer

- The accumulator -A- collects the mixture of vapor and gas coming from the evaporator so that the A/C compressor only draws in gaseous refrigerant. Depending on the operating state, unevaporated liquid is separated and stored in the accumulator or the receiver/dryer.
- The refrigerant oil also flowing in the circuit does not stay in the accumulator or receiver/dryer, since there is an oil suction hole -E- in the installed tube -D-. In order for the oil suction hole -E- to not become blocked by floating debris that is being carried along in the refrigerant circuit, a filter (screen) -F- is installed to protect the oil suction hole -E-.
- Moisture that has entered the refrigerant circuit during installation is collected by a filter (desiccant bag) in the reservoir.
- Gaseous refrigerant with oil is drawn in by the A/C compressor via the tube -D-.
- Replace the accumulator or receiver/dryer if the refrigerant circuit has been open for a long time and moisture has penetrated inside, or if required due to a specific complaint. Refer to COMPONENTS, REPLACING .
- Only remove the plugs from the connections -B and C- just before installing.
- A desiccant bag in an unsealed accumulator or receiver/dryer -A- is saturated with moisture after a short period of time and cannot be used.
- Pay attention to the flow direction when installing.
