Rear Lid Trim Molding, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Open the rear lid.

-- Remove adhesive residue on the painted side from the adhesive surface using the Adhesive Strip Remover:VAS 6349  , cleaning cloth and adhesive remover. Refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information.

-- Clean the adhesive surface with cleaning solution and a new lint-free cleaning cloth.

-- Lift the trim molding.

-- Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape with the help of the pulling aids.

CAUTION:

Loosening the bonding is only possible using sufficient force.

- To assess the pressing on force with the Pressure Roller:T40400  , the Digital Scale:VAS 231 007  can be used. A pressing on force of 70 N equals a weight of 7 kg (15.43 lbs).

- Keep the sequence for rolling on.

-- Align the trim molding to the dimensions -a-, -b-, and -c-.

-- Bond the trim molding -3- and press it on securely on the entire adhesive surface -1-.

-- Roll over the trim molding in the area of the adhesive tape -2- using the Pressure Roller:T40400  and a force of 30 N to 50 N.

-- Check the components for a secure fit after installation.
