-- Remove the instrument panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the air duct for the defroster vent. Refer to AIR DUCT FOR DEFROST AIR VENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Pry out the tabs -arrows-.
-- Remove the center vent air duct -1- from the heater and A/C unit.
