Brake Pads, Removing And Installing: Installing

CAUTION:

Before pressing the piston into the cylinder using the piston resetting tool, the brake fluid must be extracted from the brake fluid reservoir. Otherwise the brake fluid will overflow and cause damage, especially if the brake fluid was added intermittently.

-- Press back the piston into the brake caliper using the Piston Resetting Tool:T10145 -A-.

-- Lightly grease the pad guide surfaces on the brake carrier. Refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information for the grease allocation.

-- Place the brake pads -1- with the springs -2- into the brake carrier opening -3-.

-- After installing the brake pads, check for proper seating -arrow- of all the springs -2-.

-- Place the brake caliper carefully on the brake carrier.

-- Counterhold at the guide pin and mount the brake caliper on the brake carrier with new self-locking bolts.

-- Connect the brake pad wear indicator connector.

-- Install the wheels.

CAUTION:

After every brake pad replacement, firmly press down on the brake pedal several times with vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly set in their respective operating position.

Check the brake fluid level after replacing the brake pad.
