Right Multifunction Buttons on Steering Wheel -E441- /Left Multifunction Buttons on Steering Wheel -E440-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
- The Right Multifunction Buttons on Steering Wheel -E441- /Left Multifunction Buttons on Steering Wheel - E440- can only be replaced together.
- The multifunction buttons are attached with the trim molding. The decorative trim and the multifunction buttons are attached to the steering wheel. The trim can be removed more easily using a Wedge Set - Wedge 2:T10383/2 .
-- Remove the driver side airbag. Refer to OVERVIEW - DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG .
The decorative trim -1- is locked in place in the areas near the -arrows- in the multifunction steering wheel.
-- Tape off the multifunction steering wheel -1- in the area of the -arrows-.
-- Detach the decorative trim -1- at the lower area of the -arrows- from the steering wheel, using the Wedge Set - Wedge2:T10383/2 -2-.
-- Detach the decorative trim -1- in the area of the arrows -A-, -B- and -C- from the steering wheel, using the Wedge Set - Wedge 2:T10383/2 -2-.
-- If equipped, release and disconnect the connectors to the Tiptronic Downshift Button on Steering Wheel -E439- /:E438 .
-- Remove the decorative trim -1- including the Left Multifunction Buttons on Steering Wheel -E440- -3-, Right Multifunction Buttons on Steering Wheel -E441- -4- and the lower trim -5-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows B- on the back of the decorative trim -1-.
-- Free up the wiring harness -arrows C-.
-- Remove the Left Multifunction Buttons on Steering Wheel -E440- /Right Multifunction Buttons on Steering Wheel -E441- -3- from the decorative trim -1-.
-- Release and remove the decorative trim -2- from the retainers -arrows A-.
