Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the hose clamp -1- and remove the air duct pipe to the turbocharger.

-- Press the release button on the crankcase ventilation hose -1- and remove the hose.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and turn the support -2- toward the rear and remove.

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the bolt -1- and open the hose clamp -2-.

-- Remove the charge air pipe from the turbocharger.

-- Remove the nuts -arrows-.

-- Disconnect the connectors -1-, -2-, -3- and -4-. Open the bracket for the wiring harness.

-- Remove the connectors -arrows- and move the wiring harness to the side.

-- If equipped, remove the ground cable bolt -1- and disconnect the coolant hoses -2 and 3-. Seal the lines using the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122  .

-- Release the catch -arrow- and remove the wiring duct -4- upward from the bracket.

-- Remove the bolts -1, 2 and 3-. Pivot the coolant pipe to the side.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and nut -1-.

-- Remove the heat shield -2-.

-- Remove the Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10-. Refer to Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the oil supply pipe -2- from the turbocharger -1-.

-- Open the hose clamp -3- and remove the hose -4- from the turbocharger.

-- Remove the bracket -2- for the turbocharger to do so remove the bolt -1- and loosen the bolt -3-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the coolant pipe -2- from the turbocharger -1-.

-- Remove the bolt -arrows- and remove the oil return pipe -2- from the turbocharger -1-.
