Refrigerant R744 (Carbon Dioxide) Vapor Pressure And Critical Temperature/Pressure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 and 2021 Volkswagen ID.4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- In a partially filled, closed reservoir, the quantity of refrigerant evaporating from the surface equals the quantity returning to the liquid state as vapor particles condense. This state of equilibrium occurs under pressure and is often called vapor pressure. Vapor pressure is dependent on temperature. Refer to REFRIGERANT VAPOR PRESSURE TABLE .
- Refrigerant R744 is both a gas and a liquid up to a gas pressure of 73.8 bar (1, 070.38 psi) and a temperature of 31.1 °C (88 °F). There is no longer a difference between liquid and gas above the critical temperature (and the critical pressure).
