Refrigerant R744 (Carbon Dioxide)

- The critical temperature for refrigerant R744 is 31.1 °C (88 °F); therefore, certain procedures must be observed when filling with this refrigerant. A/C Service Stations must be used so that the specified capacities are properly observed. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, CHARGING .
- Refrigerant R744 must be used in the refrigerant circuit according to AHRI Standard 700 (H2 O <=10ppm CO2 >=99, 9%).
- Using a different refrigerant which does not meet the above mentioned standard (for example CO2 with quality 3.0), is not permitted and may lead to malfunctions and damage of components.
- Since the refrigerant R744 is a naturally occurring substance that does not fall under the Recycling and Disposal Law, it may be released into the environment and is not subject to the proof of disposal obligation that applies to chemical refrigerants.
