Rear Lid Drive Unit, Removing And Installing: Removing

NOTE:

The Sensor in Rear Lid Motor 1 -G745- is integrated in the Rear Lid Motor 1 -V444-.

The Sensor in Rear Lid Motor 2 -G746- is integrated in the Rear Lid Motor 2 -V445-.

If a new drive unit is installed, it must be programmed using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

It is necessary to support the drive unit when removing the engine compartment lid.

-- Loosen the D-pillar trim panel. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connectors -5- for the lines of the drive unit on the inner D-pillar.

-- Remove the lines with the rubber grommet -4-.

-- Support the rear lid.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the spring clip by prying out further.

Tearing of the spring clip is possible.

- Never pry the spring clip completely out of the ball socket.

-- Press the drive unit to the ball stud.

-- Guide a screwdriver -6- under the spring clips -2- in direction of -arrow a-.

-- The spring clip -2- opens by inserting the screwdriver -6- until the drive unit ball socket can be moved via the ball stud -3-.

-- Remove the drive unit -1- from the ball stud -3-.

After removing the drive unit remove the screwdriver -6- immediately again.

The spring clip -2- slides back into their installation position.
