Latch With Closing Assist, Removing And Installing: Removing

NOTE:

If the rear lid does not open, use the emergency release -3- inside the rear lid trim panel to open it manually. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.

-- Remove the rear lid trim panel. Refer to REAR LID LOWER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the latch cover -5-.

-- Disconnect the connector -4- from the latch -1-.

-- Remove the hex nut -2- and remove the latch -1- from the threaded pin.

-- At the same time the retaining hooks -6- loosen from the rear lid.

-- Lock the locking catch -7- from the latch locking mechanism -4-.

-- Push the lever -6- all the way with the screwdriver -5- in the direction of -arrow c- and hold.

-- Remove the release cable -1- from the retainer -arrow b-.

-- Guide the release cable -1- out of the lever -2- in direction of -arrow c-.
