Release Lever, Removing:

-- Press the hook -2- in the direction of -arrow A-.

-- Remove the release lever -1- upward in the direction of -arrow B-.

-- Remove the bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Unclip the release cables -4 and 5- from the lock carrier -3-.

-- Disengage the release cables -4 and 5- from the release in direction of -arrows b-.

-- Carefully disengage the spring clip -2-.

-- Unclip the release -1- upward from the lock carrier.

Installing

NOTE:

If the hooks get damaged, replace the release lever -1-.

-- Make sure that the spring clip -2- is placed in the cut-out -arrow a- of the release -1-.

-- Position the release -1- with the spring clip -2- on the lock carrier.

-- In this process, the release -1- is placed between both stops at the lock carrier while facing towards the emblem.

-- Engage and anchor the spring clip -2- in the lock carrier -arrow c-.

-- Clip the release -1- into the lock carrier.

-- Engage and clip the release cables -4 and 5- to the release lever -1-.

-- Make sure the release cables are seated correctly in the release.

-- Perform a function test of the release.

-- Perform a function test before closing the hood.
