Crankshaft Seal, Replacing, Transmission Side

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing

-- Remove the transmission. Refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING .

-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal Pulling Hook:T20143/2  behind the sealing lip on the seal as shown.

-- Support the Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal:T20143/2  on the sealing flange and pry out the seal in the -direction of the arrow-.

Installing:

-- Push the outer side of the seal -A- over the Seal Installer - Crankshaft Sleeve:T10122/1  on the Seal Installer - Crankshaft Seal Installer:T10122/2  .

-- Remove the guide sleeves.

-- Mount the Seal Installer - Crankshaft - Seal Installer:T10122/2  with the dry seal on the crankshaft journal.

-- Drive the seal all the way into the sealing flange using the Pressure Sleeve: T10122/3  .

Further assembly is performed in the reverse order of the removal.
