Sensor Wheel, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Torque Wrench, 6-50Nm:VAG 1331A

Procedure

The contact surface between the crankshaft/sensor wheel must free of oil and grease.

NOTE:

After tightening for the second time, the point where the heads of the countersunk bolts make contact with the sensor wheel become so deformed that the bolt heads are at the crankshaft -3- -arrows- and the sensor wheel lies >>loosely<< under the bolts.

Installing the sensor wheel is only possible in one position - the bores are offset.

-- Apply a thin coat of Locking Fluid:D 154 100 A1 to contact surfaces on the crankshaft/sensor wheel for additional fastening.

-- Tighten all the new bolts first hand-tight.

-- Then tighten the bolts to the tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - CRANKSHAFT .
