Heater Support Pump -V488-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

CAUTION:

The cooling system may be under pressure. There is a risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

Scalding the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Reduce the pressure by covering the coolant expansion tank cap with a suitable towel and carefully opening it.

-- Briefly open the coolant expansion tank cap -arrow- to reduce the pressure.

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the Transmission Coolant Valve --

-- Remove the nuts -2- and move the Transmission Coolant Valve -- to the side.

-- Remove the bolts -arrow- for the Heater Support Pump -- -1- using the Insert Tool:T10572 and Bit Torx T30:T10573 .

-- Remove the heat shield from the Heater Support Pump -- -1-.

-- Disconnect the connector from the Heater Support Pump --.

-- Clamp off the coolant hoses on the Heater Support Pump -- with Hose Clamps - Up to 25mm:3094 -arrows-.

NOTE:

Place a cleaning cloth underneath to catch any coolant leaking out.

-- Open the hose clamps on the heater support pump and remove the coolant hoses.
