Rear Drum Brake Pads Thickness, Checking

-- Remove the plug -1-.

-- Using a flashlight to check the drum brake brake pad thickness -a- without the backing plate, through the inspection hole -1-.

-- Make sure there is no brake fluid or grease on the brake shoes.

-- Install the plug -1- when the check is completed.

NOTE:

At a thickness of 1 mm, brake shoes have reached their wear limit and should be replaced (repair measure).

Procedure 

Rear brake shoe, replacing. Refer to BRAKE SHOES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
