-- Move the front seat all the way forward and into the highest position.
-- Remove the bolts -1-.
-- Move the front seat all the way back and to the lowest position.
-- Remove the bolts -2-.
-- Fold the front seat toward the rear.
-- Switch off the ignition and electrical equipment.
-- Place the vehicle key and other start authorization systems (such as smartphones) outside of the vehicle interior.
-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Open the cover in the carpet.
Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.
Risk of injury.
- Discharge static electricity: briefly touch the door striker.
-- Disconnect the connectors.
There is a risk of damaging the front seat when lifting it out or transporting it.
- Do not lift the front seat by the attachments, such as the seat belt latch, seat forward/back adjustment lever, seat height adjustment lever, or seat trim panel.
- Protect the attachments from damage using suitable materials.
Conditions
- The help of a second technician is necessary for the following procedure.
