Release Cable, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Guide the release cable -1- with the grommet -2- in the direction of -arrow A- through the opening in the body -3- in the vehicle interior.

-- Push the grommet -2- in the body opening -3-.

-- Pay attention, that the grommet -2- is seated correctly.

CAUTION:

Malfunction of the hood latch due to incorrect positioning of the release cable in the release cable coupling.

If the release cable is installed in the incorrect position, the hood can no longer be opened.

- Pay attention that the release cable is seated correctly in the release cable coupling.

- Always perform a function test, before the hood is closed.

-- Engage the release cable -1- in the direction of -arrow A- in the release cable coupling -2-.

-- Using the cap -3- from the release cable coupling -2- secure the release cable -1- but do not close the cap -3-.

-- Pretension and hold the release cable -1- in the direction of -arrow B-.

-- Close the cap -3- in the direction of -arrow C-.

-- Release the release cable -1- in the direction of -arrow A-.

-- Secure the release cable coupling -3- in the direction of -arrow B- on the support -2-.

-- Engage the release cable -1- in the direction of -arrow A- from the mounting bracket -2-.

Install in reverse order of removal.

-- Perform a function test.

-- Close the engine hood.
