Bumper Carrier Service Position, Setting And Resetting
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Adapters For Service Position:T10467
- Guide Pins:T10093
-- Remove the headlamps. Refer to HEADLAMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the lock carrier. Refer to Lock Carrier, Removing and Installing .
-- Loosen the front underbody trim panel in the area of the bumper carrier. Refer to Front Underbody Trim Panel, Removing and Installing .
-- Only remove one bolt -2- each from the left and right longitudinal members.
-- Install the Guide Rods:T10093 -4- on the left and right longitudinal members in place of these bolts.
-- Remove the remaining six bolts -2- from the left and right longitudinal members.
-- Only remove one bolt -6- from the left and right subframe.
-- Instead of these bolts install the Guide Rods:T10228 -5- on the left and right subframe.
-- Remove the remaining two bolts -6- from the left and right subframe.
-- Pull the bumper carrier with the attachments -1- forward on the Guide Rod:T10093 -4- and Guide Rods:T10228 -5-. At the same time, pay attention to the wires and disconnect the connectors.
-- To secure, install the Adapters For Service Position:T10467 -3- at the left and right between the bumper carrier and the longitudinal member.
-- To secure, install Adapter:T10480 -7- at the left and right between the bumper carrier and the subframe.
