Corrugated Tube, Repairing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Wiring Harness Repair Set - Hot Air Blower:VAS 1978/14A
- Wiring Harness Repair - Blower - Shrink Element:VAS 1978/15A
Conditions
- Area to be repaired must not be put under stress of stretching or bending.
- If the damaged area is longer than 20mm, then a new piece of corrugated tube (refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information) must be installed and the repair must be performed twice.
Installing
-- Cut out the damaged area.
-- Slide a 20mm piece of heat-shrinkable tube over each corrugated tube -1- and -2-.
-- Warm up the corrugated tube end -1- using the Wiring Harness Repair Set - Hot Air Blower:VAS 1978/14A and the Wiring Harness Repair - Blower - Shrink Element:VAS 1978/15A .
-- Press the coupling piece -3- in -direction of the arrow A- into the corrugated tube -1-. Refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information.
-- Warm up the end of the corrugated tube -2- using the hot air gun with shrink element.
-- Press the coupling piece -4- in -direction of the arrow B- into the corrugated tube -2-. Refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information.
-- Attach the coupling pieces -3- and -4-.
-- Secure the end of the corrugated tube -1- and -2- with a heat-shrinkable tube using the hot air gun with shrink element.
