Head Curtain Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the headliner. Refer to Headliner, Removing and Installing .

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge static electricity: briefly touch the door striker.

-- Unlock the connector lock.

-- Disconnect the connector.

Tip

The head curtain airbag is secured to the body with a bracket -1-, clamp -2-, and clip -3-.

-- Remove the clip -3- from the clamp -2- using commercially available cutting pliers.

-- Position a small screwdriver -2- in the upper left clamp -1-.

-- Press the hook -3- in the direction of -arrow A- and press and hold the clamp -1- in the direction of -arrow B- using a commercially available plastic wedge.

-- Repeat the process on the second hook at the lower right.

-- Remove the clamp -1- with head curtain airbag from the mount on the body.

-- Remove the rest of the clamps as described.

North American Vehicles:

-- Remove the bolt -2-.
