Head Curtain Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

Replace the clamps and clips with new parts. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.

-- Hook the head curtain airbag -1- into place in the direction of -arrow A-.

-- Hook the head curtain airbag -1- into place in the direction of -arrow B- and tighten the bolt.

Conditions

-- Without twisting it, clip the head curtain airbag -1- to the body, starting at the igniter and working toward the front and rear.

-- Pull the head curtain airbag -1- downward at the clamps and make sure it is seated securely.

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.

-- Connect the connector -1- in the direction of -arrow A- until it audibly locks.

-- Release the connector lock -2- in the direction of -arrow B-.

-- Make sure the wire is not pinched.

-- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

CAUTION:

Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.

Risk of injury.

- Keep as far away as possible from the pyrotechnic component when switching the ignition on.

-- Switch the ignition on.

-- Check and clear the DTC memory using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
