High Pressure Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing

CAUTION:

Letting the high pressure pump run dry will destroy it.

  • If the high pressure pump was removed or replaced, then the fuel system must be filled/bleed before the first engine start. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM, FILLING/BLEEDING .

-- Remove the toothed belt from the camshaft. Refer to TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFT .

-- Remove the high pressure line between the high pressure reservoir (rail) and the high pressure pump. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE LINE BETWEEN HIGH PRESSURE RESERVOIR (RAIL) AND HIGH PRESSURE PUMP, REMOVING .

-- Position the : T10051  on the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket.

-- Install the nut -arrow- hand-tight.

-- Remove the :T10492  and slowly turn the high pressure pump shaft in the tension position.

-- Remove the nut -arrow- and the : T10051  .

-- Remove the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket.

-- Engage the :T10489  on the high pressure pump hub by turning to the right.

-- Remove the high pressure pump hub.

-- Remove the fuel return hose -2-.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Carefully remove the high pressure pump.
