Hinges, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- If equipped, remove the left and right cover -1- from the hinge.

-- To do so, release the locking mechanisms -2- on the cover -1-.

-- Remove the cover -1- in the direction of the -arrow- from the hinge.

-- Remove the rear lid -1-. Refer to REAR LID, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

If removing the left hinge -6- :

-- Remove the wire -5- from the left hinge -6-.

If removing the right hinge -2- :

-- Remove the gas-filled strut -4- from the ball stud on the right hinge -2-. Refer to GAS-FILLED STRUT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for both hinges:

-- Disengage the spring -3- -arrow- and remove it from the hinge.

-- Remove the rear shelf. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .

-- Remove the bolts -7-.

-- Remove the left hinge -2- or the right hinge -6-.
