Cooling System, Flushing With Coolant
-- Attach the suction hose -A- to the coolant container -2-.
1. Cylinder Block And Cylinder Head, Flushing With Coolant
-- Use hose clamps to clamp off the bleeder hoses at the locations indicated.
-- Open the shut-off valve -A- on the valve block. Coolant is now pumped through the engine.
-- Monitor the sight window: if coolant can be seen escaping in the window, close the shut-off valve -A-.
- Required amount of coolant: approximately 2 to 3 liters (2.11 to 3.17 quarts)
2. Heater Core For The Heater, Flushing With Coolant
- Required amount of coolant: approximately 2 liters (2.11 quarts)
3. Radiator, Flushing With Coolant
- Required amount of coolant: approximately 2 liters (2.11 quarts)
4. Charge Air Cooler And Charge Air Cooling Circuit Cooler, Flushing With Coolant
- Required amount of coolant: approximately 2 liters (2.11 quarts)
Repeat the flushing procedures 1 through 4, but only pump through approximately one liter of coolant each time. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM, FLUSHING . Then the flushing procedure is complete:
-- After the flushing procedure, switch off the pump.
-- Remove all hose clamps.
Coolant Flushing and Filling Device :VAS531007 , Removing:
-- Open the shut-off valve -B- and leave it open, so that the pressure in the cooling system reduces.
-- Remove the plug -3- from the coolant expansion tank and reconnect the bleeder hose -2-.
-- Seal the flushing hose -1- with the plug.
-- Remove the valve block -1- and test adapter -2-.
-- The coolant must be at the >>weld seam<< -arrow-.
-- If necessary, extract or add coolant.
