High Pressure Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
-- Place the hub -arrow- on the high pressure pump shaft.
- The fitted key on the high pressure pump shaft must engage in the groove on the hub.
-- Place the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket on the hub.
- There must be no oil on the contact surface between the counterholder and the toothed belt sprocket.
-- Install the nuts -arrow- on the high pressure pump shaft threads.
-- Mount the counterholder on the toothed belt sprocket and tighten the nut -arrow- hand-tight.
-- Turn the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket with the :T10051 until it can be secured using the :T10492 .
-- To do so, insert the :T10492 into the hub fork -2- and into the hole underneath -1- in the sub-assembly bracket.
-- Loosen the nut -arrow- again.
- It must still be possible to rotate the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket and it must not tip.
-- Install the toothed belt. Refer to TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING => Installing (Adjusting Valve Timing) .
-- Install the high pressure line. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE LINE, INSTALLING .
Letting the high pressure pump run dry will destroy it.
- If the high pressure pump was removed or replaced, then the fuel system must be filled/bleed before the first engine start. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM, FILLING/BLEEDING .
-- After replacing the high pressure pump adapt the adaptation values in "Guided Functions " :Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
