Rear Lid, Adjusting: Notes

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Torque Wrench 1331 5-50Nm :VAG1331
- Gauge - Gap Adjustment :3371
NOTE:
The vehicle must be on all four wheels when adjusting the rear lid.
The latch -3- is bolted directly to the rear lid -1-. It does not have any oblong holes so it cannot be adjusted.
The left and right adjusting buffers -2- are not meant for adjusting. Their function is to stabilize and to cushion the rear lid -1-.
The rear lid is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed, it is not too far inward or outward and contours align.
The rear lid must engage in the striker without great force.
