Overview - Cylinder Block, Transmission Side

  1. Flywheel
  2. Alignment Sleeve
  3. Transmission Side Sealing Flange
    • Replace after removing.
    • With gasket
    • Removing and installing. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TRANSMISSION SIDE .
    • Do not oil or grease the sealing lip of seal
    • Before installing, remove oil residue from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth.
    • The guide sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto the crankshaft journal.
  4. Cylinder Block
  5. Bolt
  6. Intermediate Plate
    • The illustration does not show the version in the vehicle.
    • Must rest on the alignment sleeves
    • Be careful not to damage or bend when installing
    • Engaged on the sealing flange. Refer to Fig 2.
  7. Alignment Sleeve
  8. Bolt
    • 60 Nm +90°
    • Replace after removing.
    • For the dual mass flywheel
NOTE:

Only six bolts are installed, two bolt openings remain open.

Intermediate Plate, Installing

-- Engage the intermediate plate at the sealing flange and push it onto the alignment sleeves -arrows-.
