Overview - Crankshaft

NOTE:
Secure the engine to the assembly stand using the Engine and Transmission Holder: VAS6095A when performing the assembly work. Refer to ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .
- Cylinder Block
- Cylinder Block Bearing Shell
- With oil groove
- Lubricate
- Do not interchange used bearing shells (mark them)
- Crankshaft bearing shells identification (classification). Refer to MAIN BEARING SHELLS ALLOCATION .
- Crankshaft
- After removing, set it aside so that the sensor wheel -item ) OVERVIEW - CRANKSHAFT - List Item: Sensor Wheel is not rested on and becomes damaged
- If the crankshaft is being replaced, then the bearing shells must be reallocated to the bearing cap. Refer to MAIN BEARING SHELLS ALLOCATION .
- Axial Clearance. Refer to CRANKSHAFT, MEASURING AXIAL CLEARANCE
- Radial Clearance. Refer to CRANKSHAFT, MEASURING RADIAL CLEARANCE .
- Do not turn the crankshaft when measuring radial clearance
- Crankshaft dimensions. Refer to CRANKSHAFT DIMENSIONS .
- Bearing Shell for Bearing Cap
- Without oil groove
- Lubricate
- Do not interchange used bearing shells (mark them)
- Crankshaft bearing shells identification (classification). Refer to MAIN BEARING SHELLS ALLOCATION .
- Bolt
- Replace after removing.
- Tightening sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
- Bearing Cap
- Bearing cap 1: belt pulley side
- Retaining tabs for cylinder block/bearing cap bearing shells must lie above one another
- Bolt
- 10 Nm +90°
- Replace after removing.
- Replace the sensor wheel every time the bolts are loosened. Refer to SENSOR WHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Sensor Wheel
- For the Engine Speed Sensor -G28-
- It is possible to install in one position only, the holes are offset.
- Replace the sensor wheel every time the bolts are loosened
- Removing and installing. Refer to SENSOR WHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Thrust Washers
- For bearing 3
- Lubricate
- Bolt
- Tightening sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
- Replace after removing.
Crankshaft - Tightening Sequence
-- Tighten the crankshaft bolts in the sequence -1 to 10 and A arrows- as follows.
