Heater Support Pump -V488-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
During installation, all heat shield boots must be installed at the same location.
The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is warm. There is a risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.
Scalding the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Reduce the pressure by covering the coolant expansion tank cap with a cloth and carefully opening it.
-- Remove the coolant expansion tank cap -arrow-.
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Free up the wiring harness -1 and 2- from the air guide pipe.
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -3-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Loosen the hose clamp -arrow- and remove the charge air hose -A- with the air guide pipe downward.
AWD Vehicles
-- Remove the bevel box. Refer to the appropriate service information (May NOT be Applicable With U.S. Jetta)
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Open the heat shield boot -3-.
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Disconnect the coolant hoses from the Heater Support Pump -V488- with :3094 .
Place a cleaning cloth underneath to catch any coolant leaking out.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the coolant hoses.
-- Remove the bolt -2- and the Heater Support Pump -V488-.
