Toothed Belt, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Check the "TDC" position of the camshaft and crankshaft. Refer to VALVE TIMING, CHECKING .

NOTE:

There is a risk of damaging the camshaft if handled incorrectly.

Never use the camshaft positioning tool as a counterholder.

-- Replace the bolts -1 and 2- for the camshaft sprockets and install them loosely.

-- Mount the crankshaft toothed belt sprocket on the crankshaft.

NOTE:

There is a risk of destroying the toothed belt by bending too sharply. The toothed belt is made out of a fiberglass cord webbing, that can be damaged by bending to sharply.

Never bend the toothed belt with a radius less than 25 mm.

-- Mount the toothed belt in the following sequence.

1 - Crankshaft Toothed Belt Sprocket

2 - Tensioning Roller

3 - Exhaust Side Camshaft Sprocket

4 - Intake Side Camshaft Sprocket with Camshaft Adjuster

5 - Idler Roller

-- Install the lower toothed belt guard. Refer to LOWER TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Adjust the valve timing. Refer to VALVE TIMING, ADJUSTING .

Further assembly is performed in reverse order.
