Emissions Control Module, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to FRONT EXHAUST PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME .

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAIN THE COOLANT .

-- Remove the right drive axle heat shield. Refer to DRIVE AXLE .

-- Remove the EGR cooler. Refer to EGR COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -4- and rotate the washer fluid reservoir filler neck -2- forward.

-- Unclip the wiring harness on the container and guide it out.

-- Open the clip -3- and remove the connector -5- from the coolant expansion tank -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and place the coolant expansion tank -1- toward the front with the coolant hoses connected.

Vehicles with Differential Pressure Sensor -G505-.

-- Remove the Differential Pressure Sensor -G505- and lay on the engine with the lines still attached. Refer to Differential Pressure Sensor -G505-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with Differential Pressure Sensor -G505- and Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 -G450-

-- Open the heat shield boot -1-.

-- Remove the connector -5- from the bracket and then release and remove it.

-- Free up the wire.

-- Disconnect the connector -3 and 4- and free up the wiring harness.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Release and disconnect the Reducing Agent Injector -N474- connector from the bulkhead.

-- Free up the wire.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and remove clamp.

-- Free up the coolant hoses -3- and the reducing agent delivery line -2-.

-- Remove the coolant hoses -3- from the toothed belt guard.

-- Remove the Reducing Agent Injector -N474- and lay it to the right side.

-- Remove the bolt -3-.

-- Loosen the clamps -1- and remove the hoses.

-- Unclip the control line -2- and remove with the differential pressure sensors.

-- Remove the NOx Sensor -G295- from the emissions control module. Refer to NOx Sensor Control Module -GX30-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 2 -G448-, Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 -G495- and Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 -G648-. Refer to EXHAUST TEMPERATURE REGULATION .

-- Remove the Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10-. Refer to Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- If equipped, remove the noise insulation over the fuel injectors.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow-.

-- Position the :T10511  on the bolt heads of the cylinder head cover.

-- Engage the retaining bracket -arrow- in the emissions control module strap.

-- Open the screw-type clamp -1- and position on the emissions control module entrance funnel.

-- Remove the rest of the bolts in the order -4, 3 and 2-.

-- Remove the left :T10096  . The remaining three assembly tools must remain installed.

-- Position the :T10533  as shown and tighten the bolts hand tight. The bolt -1- is the original pendulum support bolt.

-- Push the engine and transmission as far forward as possible by turning the spindle on the :T10533  . Prevent components from hitting the fan shroud.

-- Remove the bracket -2-.

-- Pivot the lower emissions control module away from the engine and push upward.

-- Pay attention that the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 -G235- is not damaged.

-- Pull the brackets from the emissions control module mounting strap and remove the emissions control module downward.
