Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

-- Replace the screw-type clamp on the catalytic converter/turbocharger.

-- Push the screwdriver -2- into the opening -arrow- on the turbocharger.

-- Remove the seal -1- and replace.

-- Replace the seals, gaskets, O-rings and cylinder head nuts.

-- Fill the turbocharger with engine oil at the oil supply line connection.

-- Reconnect the connections and reroute the wires. Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram.

-- If equipped, install the Secondary Air Injection Pump Motor -V101-. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Motor -V101-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Secure all the heat shield boots back to the same position.

-- Fill with coolant. Refer to Filling .

-- Check the oil level.

-- To ensure the turbocharger is supplied with enough oil, let the engine run at idle for about one minute after installing the turbocharger. Avoid increasing the engine speed prematurely.

After Installing New Parts (Engine/Partial Engine, Cylinder Head or Turbocharger)

-- Connect a Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Switch the ignition on.

-- Select the following menu item: if equipped, select the 0001 - Oil pressure for intake  function.
