Fan Shroud, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Torque Wrench, 6-50Nm:VAG 1331A

Removing

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the turbocharger air duct pipe/charge air cooler. Refer to TURBOCHARGER AIR DUCT PIPE/CHARGE AIR COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the radiator fan connector -1-. To do this push the retainer -A- in the direction of the -arrow- and push the release downward.

-- Press the fan shroud left and right locking tabs -arrow B- and remove the fan shroud upward from the radiator -arrow C-.

-- Remove the radiator downward.

-- Cover the radiator with the Protective Mat:VAS 531 003 .

Installing:

Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:

Tightening Specifications:
