Coolant Pump Toothed Belt, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the turbocharger air duct pipe/charge air cooler. Refer to TURBOCHARGER AIR DUCT PIPE/CHARGE AIR COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Lift the clamp -1-, remove the upper coolant supports and set them aside.

-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the Oil Pressure Switch -- -2-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the toothed belt guard.

NOTE:

The drive gear bolt has a left-hand thread.

-- Counterholding at the vibration damper, loosen the bolt on the drive wheel -1- for the coolant pump and unscrew it three turns using the Torque Wrench 1410:V.A.G 1410 and Torque Wrench 1331 Insert - Ring Wrench - 12mm:T10360 .

NOTE:

If on vehicles with a manual transmission a starter bolt hinders attaching the tool, remove the bolt approximately 15 mm.
