Lower Timing Chain Cover, Removing And Installing: Notes

NOTE:

Dependent on the sealing compound sealant, bends the cover when removing. Because of this, always replace the cover.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Vibration Damper Assembly Tool:T10531

Silicone Sealant. Refer to the => Parts Information.

Removing

-- Remove the right front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the engine support. Refer to ENGINE SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Drain the engine oil. Refer to => Engine Oil, Draining; Oil Filter, Replacing and Filling Engine Oil.

-- Remove the Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-. Refer to Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up the clip -2- for the wiring harness.

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Unclip the oil dipstick tube from the upper timing chain cover -arrow-.

-- Remove the guide tube from the timing chain cover.

-- Remove the bolts -1 through 15-.

NOTE:

There may be only eight bolts installed, depending on the version.

-- Pry off the lower timing chain cover.
