Pistons, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Label the installation position and allocation of the piston to the cylinder.

-- Mark the installed position and which connecting rod belongs to which cylinder and to which connecting rod bearing cap -item  ) Connecting Rod.

-- Remove the connecting rod bearing cap and remove the piston and connecting rod upward.

NOTE:

If difficult to move, warm up the pistons to approximately 60 °C (140 °F).

-- Remove the circlip from the piston pin eye.

-- Remove the piston pin using the : VW222A  .
