Sealing Flange, Removing And Installing, Belt Pulley Side: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

-- Remove any sealant residue on the sealing flange and on the oil pan upper section.

-- Clean any oil or grease off the sealing surfaces.

-- Be sure to check the expiration date of the sealant.

-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: about 2 mm).

-- Mount the gasket -1- on the alignment pins on the cylinder block.

-- Apply a thin sealant bead on the edge between the cylinder block and the oil pan -arrows- with : VAS6966 .

-- Apply sealant on the lower sealing surface -arrow- using : VAS6966 .

-- Carefully coat sealant on the sealing flange.

-- Carefully push the sealing flange onto the alignment pins on the cylinder block.

-- Tighten the sealing flange bolts. Refer to Figure.

-- Install the crankshaft seal on the belt pulley side. Refer to CRANKSHAFT SEAL, REPLACING, BELT PULLEY SIDE .

-- Mount the crankshaft toothed belt sprocket on the crankshaft.

The contact surface between the vibration damper and the crankshaft toothed belt sprocket must not have any oil or grease on it.
The milled surface -arrow- on the crankshaft toothed belt sprocket must fit on the milled surface on the crankcase pin.

-- Install the toothed belt (adjust valve timing). Refer to TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the A/C compressor. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
