Steering Gear, Servicing
- Right Tie Rod End
- Identified with "A" TIE ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - Make sure the correct tie rod end is installed on each side.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to TIE ROD END, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Installation position. Refer to TIE ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - Make sure the correct tie rod end is installed on each side. .
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Nut
- 70 Nm
- The nut must be counterheld on the tie rod end using a wrench when loosening and tightening.
- Clamp
- Boot
- Must not be twisted after toe is adjusted
- Removing and Installing. Refer to BOOT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Clamp
- Replace
- Tensioning. Refer to Installing - Tighten the new clamp using the : VAS6199 to the extent depicted in the illustration. .
- Tie Rod
- 100 Nm
- Removing and Installing. Refer to TIE ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Steering Gear
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to STEERING GEAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Left Tie Rod End
- Identified with "B" TIE ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - Make sure the correct tie rod end is installed on each side.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to TIE ROD END, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Installation position. Refer to TIE ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING - Make sure the correct tie rod end is installed on each side. .
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
- Nut
- 70 Nm
- The nut must be counterheld on the tie rod end using a wrench when loosening and tightening.
- Spring Clamp
- Boot
- Removing and Installing. Refer to BOOT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Check for damage
- Must not be twisted after toe is adjusted
- Clamp
- Replace after removing.
- Install the new clamp using Locking Pliers: VAS6199 .
- Tie Rod
- 100 Nm
- If faulty, replace with the tie rod end
- Removing and Installing. Refer to TIE ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
