Brake Caliper Piston, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Install the entire repair kit when servicing.

Only use mineral spirits to clean the brakes.

New brake calipers are filled with brake fluid and are pre-bled.

Apply a thin coat of Assembly Paste to brake cylinders, pistons and seals.

-- Only clean the surfaces on the pistons and gasket with mineral spirits and then dry.

-- Place the seal in the groove.

-- Thinly coat the piston and seal with Assembly Paste before inserting.

-- Place the cap with the outer sealing lip on the piston.

-- Insert the inner sealing lip in the cylinder groove using the : 3409 .

-- Hold the piston in front of the brake caliper for this procedure.

-- Install the piston by turning to the right.

-- Do not to damage the cap while doing so.

-- Use the : T10165/1 to assist in installing.

-- Insert the : T10165 so that the collar is resting on the : T10165/1

-- Install by turning the thumbwheel on the : T10165 to the right.

The automatic adjustment in the brake caliper is destroyed when adjusting the piston using a piston resetting tool (for example, : T10165 ) or the foot brake is pressed.
