Front Seat, Removing And Installing: Installing

NOTE:

Before installing the seats in the vehicle make sure that in both seat rails the two respective identical release buttons -1- are underneath.

-- Lift seat through the front door and into the vehicle.

-- Insert seat into corresponding holes in floor via the centering pins on the tunnel side.

-- Move the seat as far forward as possible using the forward/back adjuster.

-- Insert the bolt -3- and tighten by hand.

-- Insert the bolt -4- and tighten by hand.

-- Move the seat as far back as possible using the forward/back adjuster.

-- Insert the -1- bolt and tighten.

-- Insert the bolt -2- and tighten by hand.

-- Move the seat as far forward as possible using the forward/back adjuster.

-- Tighten the bolt -3-.

-- Tighten the bolt -4-.

WARNING:

When installing the seat, if a thread in the seat crossmember mounting plate was damaged, a reworking of the damaged thread is forbidden. In this case, the seat crossmember mounting plate must be replaced.

If there is Damage to Threads in the Seat Crossmember Mounting Plate:

-- Replace the affected seat crossmember mounting plate. Refer to the appropriate Service Information.

-- Remove the : VAS6282 .

-- Attach the thorax airbag wiring harness to the connector station.

-- Depending on the vehicle equipment level, attach the remaining wiring harnesses in the coupling station.

-- Install the cap/carpet from the coupling station.

-- Switch the ignition on.

WARNING:

Make sure that no persons are in the vehicle.

-- Connect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

NOTE:

If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- indicates a fault after installing, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
