Front Backrest, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Attach the : VAS6136 on the : VAS6095A .

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Secure the seat on the : VAS6136 .

-- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to TUNNEL-SIDE SEAT TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel BACKREST ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat height adjustment handle. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to SILL-SIDE SEAT TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Press the entry assistance release cables -1 and 3- out of the retaining plate -2- at the seat rail release.

-- Disengage the release cable -3- from the seat rail release -arrow-.

The release cables are secured partially with cable ties. These need to be replaced during installation.

-- Disengage the release cable -1- at the seat rail release idler pulley -2-.

-- Disconnect the connectors from the backrest wiring harness.

-- Free up the disconnected wiring harnesses.

NOTE:

The wiring harness between the connector station and the thorax airbag is continuous.

-- Remove the bracket -1- from the seat rail.

-- Remove the bolts -2-.

-- Tilt the backrest -3- forward onto the seat pan -1-.

-- Press the seat pan padding to the side and carefully remove thorax airbag wiring harness -4- and, if necessary, all additional wiring harnesses for the backrest (depending on equipment) from the seat pan.

-- Remove the backrest.
