Backrest Release, Removing And Installing: Removing

Follow the General Safety Precautions when working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnic components). Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Attach the : VAS6136 on the : VAS6095A .

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Secure the seat on the : VAS6136 .

-- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to TUNNEL-SIDE SEAT TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel BACKREST ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat height adjustment handle. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to SILL-SIDE SEAT TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the entry assistance trim. Refer to BACKREST RELEASE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front seat cover and backrest padding. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the connecting cable. Refer to CONNECTING CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Press the handle -arrow- forward as far as the stop and hold it in that position.

-- Remove the bolt -1- (3.5 Nm).

-- Remove the handle and the bracket -2- from the backrest frame.

-- In addition, remove the retaining strap -arrows A- (2 pieces) from the entry assistance support plate.
