Backrest Release Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow the General Safety Precautions when working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnic components). Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Attach the : VAS6136 on the : VAS6095A .

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Secure the seat on the : VAS6136 .

-- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to TUNNEL-SIDE SEAT TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel BACKREST ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat height adjustment handle. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to SILL-SIDE SEAT TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the entry assistance trim. Refer to BACKREST RELEASE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front seat cover and backrest padding. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the thorax airbag. Refer to FRONT THORAX AIRBAG WITH IGNITER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

The spring mat or lumbar support does not need to be removed when removing and installing the release cables.

-- Remove the eyelets -3- (2 pieces) on both sides from the bolts -4- (2 pieces) with the pliers.

-- Remove the rivets -2- from the left and right bracket -1-.

5 - Backrest Frame

-- Unclip the end of the release cable -2-.

-- This is done by removing the end of the release cable from the bracket -1- in the direction of the -arrow-.

-- Remove the bearing -1- from the backrest frame -2-.

-- Guide the end of the release cable through the mount opening in the backrest frame.

-- Remove the left and right release cables from the backrest frame.
