Rollover Protection, Removing And Installing: Installing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE:

Make sure there are no foreign objects in the shaft for the rollover protection before and during installation.

WARNING:

The rollover protection system has components that are under spring tension which can deploy if shaken.

There is the danger of serious person injury to the face and body.

-- Hold the : VAS6750 securely.

-- Guide the rollover protection slowly into the shaft.

WARNING:

The bolts are meant to be used one time only. Make sure they are not used again.

-- Lift the rollover protection slightly with a screwdriver -1-.

-- Install the bolt -2-.

-- Push the tab -3- in direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove the : VAS6750 from the rollover protection tab -arrow-.

-- Remove the : VAS6750 from the rollover protection and remove the screwdriver -1-.

Only for the Left Side of the Vehicle

-- Install the new bolts -1, 2, 3 and 4- in the Vehicle in the given sequence.

Only for the Right Side of the Vehicle

-- Install the new bolts -1, 2, 3 and 4- in the Vehicle in the given sequence.

Procedure for both Vehicles Sides

-- Connect the connector -2- and lock the connector safety catch -1-.

-- Further installation is in the reverse order of removal.

WARNING:

No one should work near the rollover protection.

-- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
