Airbag Control Module -J234-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

WARNING:

When working on the Airbag Control Module -J234-, follow the general safety precautions for working on airbag, belt tensioner and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnic components). Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Remove the trim panel -2-.

NOTE:

The other parts of the center console do not need to be removed.

-- Remove the nuts -1-.

-- Remove the bracket -2- from the center tunnel.

-- Open the locking mechanism -1- on the connector in the direction of -arrow-.

-- Disconnect the wiring harness from the control module -1-.

NOTE:

The control module is shown in the illustration without the other components around it.

-- Remove the nuts -1-.

-- Remove the control module -2- from the center tunnel.
