WARNING:

When cutting through the rear spoiler adhesive bead, never use cutting wire as it may cause damage to the paint surfaces.

NOTE:

Remove dirt from all joints, so that no paint damage can occur during removal of the rear spoiler.

Cover the bordering paint surfaces with tape to prevent causing damage.

-- Remove the rear lid lower trim panel. Refer to REAR LID LOWER TRIM PANEL (CONVERTIBLE) .

-- Remove the nut -arrows- for attaching the rear spoiler to the rear lid.

-- Mark -arrows- the position of the threaded pins for the nuts (6 pieces) with a suitable pen on the underside of the rear spoiler -1-.

-- Carefully loosen the tape between the rear lid and the outer rear left and right spoiler using a plastic wedge.

-- Pull the cutting wire sideways under the rear spoiler.

-- Secure a :VAG1351/1 on both ends of the cutting cord.

-- Cut the rear spoiler with a "sawing" motion up to the first marking and remove the cutting wire.

-- Slide in a plastic wedge -2- to spread the area under the rear spoiler.

-- After making the first mark, thread the cutting wire between the rear lid and the rear spoiler and secure the :VAG1351/1 on both ends.

-- Cut the rear spoiler again with a "sawing" motion up to the next marking and remove the cutting wire.

-- Continue cutting the remaining adhesive in the same fashion until the rear spoiler is completely cut free.

-- Remove the rear spoiler from the rear lid.
